What size storage unit do I need?

The short answer: Most people need a 35 sq ft container, which holds about the contents of a small room. A 25 sq ft unit holds up to 10 boxes or suitcases and two pieces of furniture. If you only have a few items, store them as single items instead of renting a whole unit.
Start with what you are storing
The easiest way to choose a size is to list what you need to store, room by room. A list also helps later, because we ask every customer for an inventory to validate their insurance.
Count the boxes and suitcases first, then the furniture, then anything awkward such as a bike, a mirror or a mattress. Bulky items take up far more room than their weight suggests, so give them extra space on your list.
A quick size guide
- 25 sq ft: up to 10 boxes or suitcases and two pieces of furniture. Good for a student room, a spare room clear-out or a few weeks between homes.
- 35 sq ft (one container): about the contents of a small room. Good for a one-bedroom flat's worth of furniture and boxes, or a typical home office.
- 50 sq ft and larger: studio flats up to larger family homes. Units go up to 210 sq ft.
Unit or single items?
If you have a handful of boxes, suitcases or a couple of pieces of furniture, single items are usually the better fit, because you only pay for what you store. If you have a whole room or more, a unit is simpler: everything stays together in one container.
Should I round up or down?
If you are between sizes, choose the bigger one. Taking everything in one go is cheaper and less stressful than finding there is not enough room. If you are really unsure, send us a short walkthrough video on WhatsApp and we will advise.

Can I change size later?
If you need more space, contact us and we will help. It is much easier to start with the right size, so choose the larger one if you are between sizes.
Do you quote prices in this guide?
No, because prices change. The booking page always shows the current weekly price for each size, with VAT and insurance included.
